Speech Pathology

Speech pathology is an allied health profession that support individuals with their communication and eating skills.

Dana Kabaila is a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist (Member No.: 12756). She has13 years of speech pathology experience including disability, community and hospital work. She holds a Bachelor of Speech Pathology and Graduate Diploma of Infant Mental Health. Dana has lead multidisciplinary teams in Melbourne and speech pathology teams nationally.

Dana supports infants, toddlers and preschoolers who experience difficulty or difference with:

- understanding what others are communicating

- communicating their wants, needs and interests

-  speech that is understandable to others

- stuttering

- developing oral feeding skills

- increasing mealtime enjoyment

- tube weaning (in collaboration of the child's treating hospital team)

- play skills and building social connections

Dana's approach is to celebrate each child and family for their own unique gifts and talents while providing practical strategies to support a child to extend their skills, participate in community environments and grow in their confidence.

Dana works with children from birth to four years of age, their family and educators to develop communication and mealtime skills. Dana offers mobile speech pathology services in: Fitzroy North, Northcote, Clifton Hill, Thornbury, Preston, Brunswick East, Brunswick, Brunswick West, Fitzroy, Collingwood, Abbotsford, Ivanhoe, Alphington, Carlton North

Dana's rate is in line with NDIS price guidelines ($193.99 per hour) and she is able to provide services to private clients and NDIS participants with plans that are self-managed or plan managed.

*For those who are unable to receive funding or privately fund costs, it may be worth exploring which low cost services are available at your Local Government Areas Community Health Centre.
